Mark E. Lewis

This week we have another talented artist from across the pond. From Florida, Mark is born and raised in Daytona Beach. Born at the home of NASCAR he has naturally been exposed to auto racing from a young age.

He joined the Air Force and had a stint living in LA for five years, after which he returned to Florida to work at Daytona International Speedway for 15 years in Public Relations.

Now he works as a full-time artist.

"My art training is mostly self-taught. I've been artistic since I was a kid, but painting and drawing in the conventional sense is actually boring. I deal with A.D.D. and I get bored easily" commented Mark.

Several years ago he discovered computer-assisted art programs and it opened a whole new world for him. "My love for endurance racing especially, formed the basis of my style. I love night racing pieces featuring the cars of the 24 Hours of Daytona, Le Mans and the 12 Hours of Sebring", he added.

At M Lewis Motorsports Art on Facebook you can find a variety of motorsports art ranging from Sportscar, to Indycar and F1. Mark encourages anyone who loves motorsports art to join his Facebook page and if you are interested in an MLewis piece, simply contact him there.
